7 Places to Play Poker in Las Vegas
Binion's, Wynn and Paris

By , About.com Guide

Binion’s Poker Room - This is old school Vegas, where the World Series of Poker started. What that means is that you’ll find guys on the No-Limit tables who just want to say “I’m all in” It’s not that big of a deal but just be mindful that most of the players here come all the way downtown to play poker and they usually can play. I have won some cash here but it is a grind. You have to be patient and very alert. However, this is like taking the ice at Maple Leaf Gardens in the Poker World.

Bottom Line at Binion’s – Play the $50 tournaments held three times a day. Usually they get about 6 tables and the pot gets pretty healthy. If you are going to play poker in Las Vegas there really is no way you should miss Binion’s.

Paris Las Vegas Poker Room - This is the home of the good looking girls, with low cut, tight blouses who make you stare at them as they try to steal your chips. As of late I have seen a lot more of these at the Paris Poker room (. Since I am married they do not affect me, I’m immune to their advances. Needless to say it is a fun atmosphere to play poker in but the money comes a little harder. The location near the sport book allows you to be distracted by games on large screens, if you suffer from ADD don't play at Paris.

Bottom line at the Paris Poker Room – Play No Limit, $100 buy-in, here and you should spend a few hours trying to double your money. I just have not found my groove at this place and I spend more time cultivating my drinking habit and less time playing poker hands.

Wynn Poker Room – High end Poker room with people who have money to burn. You might want to check it out but be on the lookout for the guy with the wad in his pants who will call almost anything.

Bottom line at the Wynn Poker Room - Go to the Parasol Down bar and have a few drinks and spare yourself the stress of playing on a table with a guy who calls everything with rags and then wins.
