What are my dining, drinking and entertainment options at the Luxor Las Vegas?

By Zeke Quezada, About.com

Question: What are my dining, drinking and entertainment options at the Luxor Las Vegas?
The Luxor Las Vegas offers plenty of options for eating, drinking and entertainment but its location and proximity to so many options make this hotel a good choice as a base of operations. Not the best choice, but for the money it is very attractive.
Answer: If you are looking for a place to have a drink where you get a good view of Las Vegas and what the night life has become, people watching at Aurora or Flight are prime attractions. They are both two casual bars, in the casino that can, on any given night entertain you with the "Vegas type" of clientele.

The Luxor is currently going through a transformation so the food choices are below average while the nightlife is the hottest in town. For awhile they had a couple of decent places to eat and then people would leave. Now the crowds jam their nightclubs and bars.

However, the Luxor is connected to the Mandalay Bay Hotel and the Excalibur by both Monorail and indoor walkways. You never have to see the outside world and you could go from Hotel to Hotel. The Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino

If you are looking for a simple burger meal I would suggest the Burger Bar at Mandalay Place. They have quite a few beers on tap, the menu of beers changes regularly and they have very good burgers. If you stay away from the $84 Kobe beef burger you can get out under $25. For Vegas that is a steal.

The Mandalay Place is in a Walkway that connects the Mandalay Bay with the Luxor.

At the Mandalay Bay the food choices are endless and the atmosphere is bit more upscale without it feeling pretentious. The best place for a drink with an incredible view is Mix at THE hotel at Mandalay Bay. You get panoramic views of the Las Vegas valley from the top floor while having an incredible meal. It is one of the few Michelin rated restaurants in Las Vegas.

If you are a fan of the Martini or Vodka, Red Square at Mandalay Bay is both a restaurant and a lounge and she can sit at the ice bar and have casual conversations about Vodka. Personally, I stop in as often as I can and just sit down and have a dirty Martini because the place is very comfortable and inviting. Well, I might have more than one and then it becomes very comfortable.

Next door to Red Square, rumjungle has plenty of rum and some tasty Brazilian/Caribbean food. The place starts off as a restaurant then transforms into a nightclub. The drinks are expensive and the music is loud but the crowd is generally fun and festive.

For the High-Tech kind of guy, there is a lounge in the center of the Mandalay Bay Hotel called the eyecandy sound lounge and bar. They have interactive tables that allow patrons to interact while sitting around and drinking expensive alcohol. It is an intriguing spot if you are dazzled by technology and you want to watch people be amazed by colorful lights. Good people watching spot. Nearby the MGM Grand has so many Restaurants you need a few trips to try them all. Joel Robuchon is at the MGM Grand and it is the only Michelin 3 star restaurant in Vegas. Who cares, I hate the French Rating System. Emeril’s is the place to go. Cajun, southern influenced seafood. The wine list is extensive and the service is top notch.
