Con: Still needs some updating
Arranged our very first trip to Vegas. Used a travel agency and picked the Riviera as it was decently priced for us empty walleters. The hotel itself is not bad. You can tell it's one of the older hotels in Vegas, but it's not falling apart. The room my boyfriend and I were in was a king room in the Monaco tower in a corner. The room was not bad. A little small with a small TV, small round desk and small chair. I would have liked it a little bigger, especially for a room that had a King bed in it. Our friends had a double bed room in the Mediterranean tower (the one attached the main part of the hotel). Their room was huuuge, had a flat screen TV, realllly nice furniture, the bedding was amazing, and the bathroom was much nicer. So if I had to guess, it looked like maybe they were in the middle of renovating the entire hotel and just didn't get to our tower yet. But for a first time visitor, the Riviera was not a bad choice. I would warn that if you want to eat at the Riviera, you are better off eating at Kady's than at the buffet. IMHO, the buffet was overpriced for food that was honestly not that good.
