Value hotels are those that are just passed their prime yet still deliver a quality product. While you may not be able to get room service in all of the properties and the décor might be dated you can find some great deals. Typically pools tend to be smaller and lack the bells and whistles of other Las Vegas Resorts.

The rooms of the value hotels usually hover in the small range However, some of the classic hotels such as the Tropicana, the Stardust and the Riviera still have good sized rooms and deliver with a little of old Las Vegas. These rooms are not as small as some of the Downtown hotels but do usually have an outdated look to them.

Cheap hotels tend to have average restaurants that are a value in the new era of extremely expensive dining options. Most of these properties have great coffee shops.

Gaming at the affordable hotels usually means lower table limits and looser slots. While you might not be able to get top shelf drinks you will be served much faster if you tip. Service at these hotels seems more genuine, for what it’s worth.

In the summer my favorite is the Tropicana because of the large pool area, the Riviera serves up a mean prime rib in its coffee shop and the Stardust is always a great place to gamble and watch a game at the sports book.

As for too cheap, if you don't mind crunchy carpet and the smell of smoke you should be good at these bargain hunter properties. I only send my mother-in-law to these places so you might get an idea of what they are like.

Prices for rooms usually start around $40 per night on weekdays and about $70 on weekends. You should note that on a busy weekend these rooms can easily go for $120 - $170. Back to Find the right Las Vegas hotel for your budget
