Each of these hotels offer qualities that can help create a family friendly Las Vegas vacation. Generally, I would stay away from Downtown Las Vegas Hotels for kids as there is much less to entertain the children. Remember, Las Vegas is an adult playground so you might come in contact with smokers, drinkers and scantily clad party goers. If you can deal with that you should have a great time.

1. Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino

Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino has a great pool for kids and fast food restaurants right near the elevators. The rooms are spacious enough to cram in the kids and not step on too many toys. Great location across from the showcase mall and Gameworks.
2. New York/New York Hotel and Casino

New York/New York Hotel and Casino has a huge rollercoaster out front and a great food court. The arcade area is one of the biggest in Las Vegas and can easily occupy the kids for hours. Across the street from the Excalibur and the movie theaters at the showcase mall.
3. Flamingo Las Vegas

Flamingo Hotel and Casino is not as good of a choice for families but its location and price help the cause. The pool area is great for kids and its proximity to the Forum shops at Caesars and the very family friendly FAO Schwartz toy store make it reasonable for families looking for a center strip hotel.
4. Excalibur Hotel and Casino
Excalibur Hotel and Casino has a fantastic game area on the level below the casino. There plenty of games for children of all ages and you will leave there with a few stuffed animals. The corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd. is easily the best place to stay with families because of the number of hotels nearby that have family friendly activities.
5. Luxor Las Vegas
Sandwiched between the Mandalay bay and the Excalibur the Luxor Hotel and Casino has a huge arcade area and an IMAX theater. The pool area is fun and there are enough affordable restaurants to feed the kids cheap in the immediate vicinity.
6. MGM Grand Hotel and Casino
At the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino you might pay a bit more for a room but you can combine a family friendly hotel with one that will also suit your grown up tastes. The pool is huge and the showcase mall is next door. The fast food court is perfect for families wanting to cut down costs and NY/NY and Excalibur are across the street.
7. Mandalay Bay Hotel Las Vegas

The Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino is at the upper end of what you might want to do for a family vacation. The wave pool and lazy river offer hours of fun and shark reef offers up close encounters with plenty of species of marine life. Fast food is scarce but a tram can take you to the Luxor or Excalibur in a matter of minutes.
8. Circus Circus Hotel Las Vegas
Circus Circus Hotel and Casino always has very reasonably priced rooms. Adventuredome, free circus acts and a ton of cheap eats makes this ideal for families. However, the property is a bit dated and need some cleaning up.
