Surprise Yourself with this Tamarind Margarita Recipe

An attractive woman makes you a drink, she rims the glass with chili powder and she seduces you with her smile as she gently slides the glass across the bar. You examine the drink, you know there is tequila in there but you are not quite sure what else went into this cocktail. That is pretty much how it went when a Cazadores Tequila Ambassador sat me at the bar at Dos Caminos Las Vegas and began to mix some magic for me. The Tamarind Margarita was a tasty combination of Tequila spice, tamarind sweetness and the flavors of a chili powder that I now crave on everything. If you learn how to make this well you might as well set up some space on your carpet because I'm coming over and you will not get rid of me.

This is the Tamarind Margarita recipe for the one that I sampled while involved in a tequila certification course with the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (Tequila Regulatory Council) at Dos Camino Las Vegas at the Palazzo Resort, Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas strip.

Tamarind Margarita Recipe From Cazadores Tequila
TEQUILA CAZADORES® TAMARITA (TAMARIND MARGARITA)
1 ½ parts Tequila CAZADORES® BLANCO
1 part tamarind concentrate
½ parts triple sec
½ parts simple syrup
1 part fresh lime juice
1 part orange juice
1 ½ tablespoons kosher salt mixed with 1 teaspoon chili powder (for rim) Shake ingredients with ice. Serve in a margarita glass, rimmed with kosher salt and chili powder, over ice.
Garnish with orange wedge.
