What to expect at the El Cortez Hotel:
This is a low end property but things are looking better these days. You still some shady characters around the area but Downtown Las Vegas is looking much better and you might consider it if you are trying to save a few bucks.
What you might like at the El Cortez Hotel:
The rooms are a bit larger than most in downtown and the gaming is still within the limits you find in Downtown.
What you might not like at the El Cortez Hotel:
Improvements have been made and I would say that you might find this place to be a possible bargain property.
My suggestion:
If you are really looking for a value stay on Fremont Street as opposed to a few blocks away at the El Cortez. However, if it’s a busy weekend and all you can find is the El Cortez just be mindful of the area around the Casino as you walk back up Fremont street
