The Mojito is best enjoyed with a fine cigar, but my wife is not a big fan of smoke so I have to enjoy it with good conversation. Doesn't that sound like fun. Actually, on a warm day in Las Vegas order a Mojito at Parasol Down at Wynn or on the deck at Tangerine. The Mojito will give you that refreshed feeling you need in the Las Vegas heat.
Ingredients:
- ice
- 2 1/2 measures of white rum
- 2/3 measures gomme syrup
- 1 dash of bitters
- juice of half a lime
- 2 measures of soda water
- mint
Preparation:
Let the fun begin, first pop in a little Caribbean music and start dancing the Mojito dance. Grab the mint and crush it at the bottom of a glass. Those tall glasses that scream summer cocktail. You might want to drop in the freshly squeezed lime for a little added flavor. Half fill a shaker with ice cubes and then pop in the rum, lime juice, bitters and the syrup. Give it a good shake and strain it into a glass. Add the soda and kinda give it a gentle shove to begin the mixing process. Suck it up! You should have about seven in order to sleep well. In Las Vegas a few Mojitos and your walk back to your room will make an afternoon perfect. Caution, too many Mojitos by the pool and you will leave with a nasty sun burn that could ruin your vacation.
