What it’s like at Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant and Bar Las Vegas?
Yellowtail is at the Bellagio Resort so instantly that should give you a frame of reference. You will get a certain elegance that just does not happen automatically at other sushi restaurants in Las Vegas. The decor is hip and upscale with a modern feel that suggests that this is not your corner sushi joint. If you get a view of the fountains your night will be interrupted with the sight and sounds of the trademark free show on the Las Vegas strip. That may or may not be what you are going for so consider what your evening is going to be like when you make reservations. If you want to be out on the patio I would suggest calling very much in advance.
How’s the food at Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant and Bar Las Vegas?
On the surface this is sushi and simply put, if you like raw fish it really only depends on the freshness of the fish. Right? Well, not exactly, so much more goes into a fine meal that involves sushi and seafood and a well prepared chef can easily make the food a masterpiece. Chef Akira Back does his best to inspire the fusion between Japanese staples and cuisine from around the world. His dishes are reminiscent of one of his former kitchen mates, Nobu Matsuhisa, but they seem far more inspired by his risk taking, snowboarder mentality.
With that said, Yellowtail is a fun and comfortable place to have an upscale sushi meal. The dishes are varied and you will try and enjoy new ingredients that you might not have otherwise sampled before. If not for the price I would probably eat here regularly but it can be cost prohibitive because I love to eat and I love bigger portions. I also love to drink sake and the selection is one of the best on the Las Vegas strip.
