The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art holds these special events the second Wednesday of every month and you are able to enjoy the gallery in a completely different way. You get to ask questions about the art as well as get involved in conversations with other people who are just as curious about the pieces and the wine as you are. The best part is that the event is very approachable for the non-expert. If you don't know your way around wine or art this is perfect because you can ask any question and get a real answer from a couple of well informed professionals.
The evening begins with a tasting of the wines and you get to bend the ear of Jason Smith, Director of Wine and Master Sommelier at the Bellagio. Later in the evening you'll get an opportunity to walk around the gallery as Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art (BGFA) Director Tarissa Tiberti discusses the pieces and Jason Smith explains his pairings made from the Bellagio wine cellar.
Ultimately, you learn far more about the artwork and you'll expand your palate at the same time.
If you're like me you try to guess what you would have paired with each piece of artwork. Would it be Pabst Blue Ribbon or Jack Daniels or maybe a Barolo from that special place in Piedmonte? So much fun and a perfect date night in Las Vegas.
Opening February 18, 2012: Claude Monet: Impressions of Light. I get excited about this period because it makes me think about the French painters and Paris in the 1800's.
