SUSHISAMBA at the Palazzo will help you traverse the fine line between adventure and euphoria as you encounter cuisine from Japan with the technique of Peru and the flare of Brazil. The dining room is set up so as to allow you a view of the action, from the images on the wall, that inspires you to find your passport, to the sushi bar and the grill. The colorful ceiling, the music and the energy inspire you to order up a cocktail and consider dancing. The atmosphere is pure energy and fun and if you don’t feel it when you are having a meal at Sushisamba you might need a defibrillator.

Things you should consider when dining at Sushisamba:

  • Before you get going, consider the cocktail tree where you and a group of friends can sample a few cocktails on a branch that holds 12 glasses for each of your libations. Go with the Nina Fresca, the Mora Negra and one of the Mojito’s with muddled fruit. The tone will be set after the initial round of cocktails.
  • Start of with the Sampler of Tiraditos and Seviche, Kanpachi, Yellowtail, Salmon, Tuna, each of the sashimi like entrees will give you an idea of what it is your taste buds prefer, spicy, salty, sweet or sour.
  • Consider one or a few of the rolls, my personal favorite, El topo Roll, Includes salmon, jalapeno, shiso leaf, melted mozzarella, crispy onions, I cannot imagine ever ordering a sushi roll where cheese played a role in the dish but I was floored by the enhanced flavors of this dish at Sushisamba.
  • From the grill, the Robata - Hands down the lamb chops are your option. Prepare yourself to consider ordering a second helping, they are a deadly attack on your commitment to eat less red meat. They are so good they could very well turn a vegetarian into a red meat loving freak.
  • Desserts - Fruit filled tacos and a Pisco Punch.
