About Wildhorse Golf Club: Wildhorse is one of the most challenging and most affordable golf courses in southern Nevada. It was also one of the first courses to be built, dating back to 1958. At one time it was owned by Howard Hughes, and it was a stop on the PGA Tour in the 1960s and '70s.
The municipal course was modernized in 2004 by architects Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley, and boasts a number of holes with varied difficulty. In fact, hole No. 4 was named one of the "best of the best 18 holes" in town by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The challenging par-3 205-yard hole is surrounded by water.
The ninth hole is known as one of the most difficult tees in Las Vegas. The par-4, 398-yard hole is all about placement. With the sand, the lake and the bunker, even the best golfers have their game cut out for them.
Among other awards, the course was named "Best Places to Play" by Golf Digest in 2006-2007 and "Best of Show" by Bridal Spectacular:
