About Hacienda Margarita at the Las Vegas Hilton: Diners interested in going beyond tacos will enjoy Hacienda Margarita's exotic regional offerings. Specialties include antojitos platters (tapas-like appetizers), carnitas (savory, slow-cooked pork) and lobster enchiladas. If a member of your dining party isn't a Mexican food fan, filet mignon is also available. The adjoining cantina features margaritas made with premium tequilas.

Hours: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily; the adjoining cantina is open 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Prices: Dinner and one drink averages $25

About the Las Vegas Hilton: Guests usually stay at the Las Vegas Hilton because it's convenient to the convention center, close to the Strip and the rooms are reasonably priced. It doesn't have the wow factor of the newer resorts, but reviewers on TripAdvisor.com  say the hotel is a good value.

After-dinner entertainment: Recent attractions have included Barry Manilow's Ultimate Manilow: The Hits; Menopause The Musical; ventriloquist Terry Fator, a 2007 winner of America's Got Talent; and The Scintas, a comedy/music act that's appropriate for all ages.
