What It's Like at Canyon Ranch Spa Club: By summer 2008, Canyon Ranch Spa Club will be the largest of its kind in the world, sprawling across 134,000 square feet. The spa will offer three coed (and gorgeously designed) areas for relaxing, so the only stress guests will experience will be choosing where to recline. A wave room promises to inundate guests with an oceanic feel, using the sounds and smells of waves; the salt grotto will surround visitors with salty sea air; and the "Aquavana" experience will mix thermal spa cabins, cold rooms and aqua thermal bathing.
But until then, the current facility has plenty of activities and treatments to keep guests busy. From the health and wellness center to the gyms and weight room, pools, rock-climbing wall and the delicious (and nutritious) food at the Canyon Ranch Cafe, you'll have no problem amusing yourself for a few hours. The specialty is massage; the spa also hosts lectures on topics such as bone health, weight loss, aging and nutrition.

Health and Wellness: A licensed acupuncture practitioner will help to balance your qi (energy). A personal trainer will stretch and strengthen your entire body with pilates. A licensed nutritionist can help improve your eating habits. And a physical therapist will teach you how to take care of your body, focusing on your areas of concern.
Spa Services: Ayurvedic body treatments are designed to balance your energies, using the traditions of India. The Ayurvedic Herbal Rejuvenation includes an exfoliating mask followed by a light massage. Shirodhara involves a soothing scalp treatment followed by a massage of the face, hands and feet. In Abhyanga, a duo of therapists perform a full-body massage meant to detox and boost immunity.
Energy Therapy: Vibrational therapy aims for balance and relaxation using chakra stones, crystal sounding bowls, acupoint stimulation and more. In Reiki, a therapist promotes healing by placing hands over the chest, abdomen and back. In Craniosacral Therapy, a therapist uses light touch to release restricted flow in cerebrospinal fluid and evoke deep calm.
Baths: The Euphoria bath has everything: a scalp massage, body mask, bath and body massage. The Serenity bath lets you inhale the scent of the forest as you relax. In the Wave Tub, you can select a toning or relaxing treatment.
Body Wraps: With the Cocoon Wrap, you can disappear into a cloud of comfort; exfoliation and moisturization follow. Or try Aroma Boosters: Choose the treatment (detox, travel fatigue, renewal or anti-aging), and the staff will select your scent to match.
Massage Therapies: Soothe the muscles with the Canyon Ranch Massage, a full-body Swedish massage. In the Canyon Ranch Stone Massage, heated basalt stones help relax even the tightest of muscles. Sculpt a New You is a personalized massage that targets problem areas. Restore zapped energy with Travel Revive. The Prenatal Massage soothes aching muscles and is adaptable for any stage of pregnancy. Also available are Shiatsu, sports massage, Ashiatsu (deep barefoot massage), Thai massage, neuromuscular therapy and more.
Skin Care: The Advanced Wellness Facial uses the Canyon Ranch's own product line to help the skin heal itself. Using a combination of the elements (fire in the form of electric currents and water in the form of active marine products), the Firming Facial stimulates and tones the face. The Soliel Defense Facial restores and protects skin with a Vitamin C-enhanced treatment. The Gentleman's Facial cleanses and relaxes with its fresh, earthy smells. The Collagen Boost Facial instantly lifts skin using collagen and low-level currents.
Hours at Canyon Ranch Spa Club: The spa is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. The salon is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Prices at Canyon Ranch Spa Club: Massages range from $150 to $240; facials range from $150 to $245; and body treatments range from $165 to $265. Drinks and light snacks are included in the prices.
Suggestions for Canyon Ranch Spa Club: Treatments are discounted Tuesday through Thursday. You can also purchase a $35 daily pass (or three days for $80 and five for $115), which grants use of the fitness center, whirlpool, steam room, sauna and fitness classes. Check the website for specials.
