About the show: Known as "The Uncensored Hypnotist," Anthony Cools' show is definitely for adults only. How adult? Take one example from the show, when he explains to a hypnotized volunteer that they're going to be auditioning for an adult film. He points to a chair at the center of the stage and tells the "actor" that the chair is actually the best-looking person they've ever seen - that's who'll be their auditioning partner. Cools' act is unscripted and changes nightly according to the personalities of his volunteers. Sometimes he'll hypnotize people and convince them that they're orangutans, or have them think they've changed genders. From time to time he'll suggest to someone that their backside is in flames when they hear Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire." Whatever he's having his volunteers act out, Cools' energy and sense of comedy keep the show moving at a fast clip, and raunchiness is a point of pride. But don't say you weren't warned - the show actually begins by informing the audience that if they're offended by expletives they should leave the casino.
Cools is a Canadian native who became interested in hypnosis at age 14. As he grew older, he began using his skills to help people quit smoking, lose weight and combat their fears, he says. Around the same time he was also managing a nightclub. He decided to book himself at the club to do a hypnosis show, hoping to draw more people into the venue. It worked. Nearly 600 people showed up for the show - and loved it. Cools quit his job the very next day. The rest is Las Vegas history.
