About Ago at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino: Robert DeNiro is a partner in this new branch of the famous Los Angeles Italian eatery. Run by chef Agostino Sciandri, Ago serves Tuscan food in plush surroundings. The setting is modern and elegant, and diners can view the chefs cooking in the open kitchen. The restaurant prides itself on authenticity, and features northern Italian specialties such as pappardelle allo stracotto di cinghiale (pasta with wild boar), and wild mushroom risotto. Meat lovers can opt for an Angus steak, or veal or lamb chops roasted in a wood-burning oven. Dessert selections include gelato, sorbetto, biscotti, pastries and tiramisu. The lounge at Ago serves Italian wines and martinis, and opens a half-hour before the restaurant.
