Silverstone Golf Club description: Designed by world-renowned golf course architect Robert Cupp, Silverstone offers a varied and serene golfing experience. With views of the Sheep Mountains and Mount Charleston, in addition to Bent and Rye grass fairways and roughs, Silverstone Golf Club is a departure from the desert that surrounds Las Vegas. Distinguished from other courses by its 27 holes, this golf club offers challenges to golfers of all levels - and also boasts the longest par-5 hole in the state of Nevada at 653 yards (on the mountain course No. 3 hole). There are two water features for each nine holes.
The golf carts at Silverstone are equipped with Informer-HD GPS, and feature a 10.4-inch color display. That means they can help you determine distances, and even produce 3-D diagrams to decipher the yardage to the nearest hazard or hole.
The on-site Silverstone Golf Academy offers lessons to adults and children in a unique, climate-controlled atmosphere. Golfers stand inside and swing; their balls soar outside. It's a good way to sharpen up your game when summer temperatures hit the triple digits.
Silverstone course yardage: With 27 holes, Silverstone's yardage is a combination of two nine-hole courses:
