The "Crazy Girls" have been performing for 16 years to audiences at the Riviera Hotel & Casino and have survived the good times and the bad and now it's time to celebrate as one of Las Vegas' longest running shows. Karen Raider who danced in the show when it began 16 years ago at the Riviera is now the manager of "Crazy Girls." She worked her way up to line captain and company manager. She is backstage every night and while the show is on the "Crazy Girls" are under her watchful eye. She said, "The show now is better than ever. While many copy cat shows having fallen by the wayside and investors have lost there money we will be around for a long time to come." All the original "Crazy Girls" have moved on but Karen. There have been over 100 "Crazy Girls" in the show although only eight at a time are featured nightly.

"Crazy Girls" was originally $9.95 when it opened in September of 1987 and now it is $34.95 base price. They used to do 18 shows a week and now do 6. It's an easier life for the professional dancers and with one show a night they put their awe into it.

A nonstop procession of celebrities have visited "Crazy Girls" from Magic Johnson who was caught up in one of the biggest scandals of his career that ended up on the front page of the National Enquirer to Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, Martin Lawrence, Tom Jones and Roseanne. There are well over 100 notables who have seen the show.

During the mid-'90s the "Crazy Girls" advertising shook up the City Fathers and Sen. Bill O'Neal when the advertising campaign was a bit too cheeky for them even though it won the prestigious Addy Award. Their foresight of Las Vegas becoming a family destination like Orlando and Anaheim was clouded.

On Sept. 18th, the "Crazy Girls" celebrated the joint anniversaries with a cake and dinner at Ruth's Chris in conjunction with "An Evening at La Cage's" cast and star Frank Marino.

Show times for "Crazy Girls" are at 9 p.m. from Friday thru Wednesday nights. The showroom is dark on Thursday nights. Tickets are $34.95 plus tax. For more information call the Riviera Box Office at (702) 794-9433 or (800) 634-3420. Check out the Riviera's web site at www.theriviera.com and click on "Crazy Girls" or lasvegascrazygirls.com. "Las Vegas' Sexiest Topless Revue" is the best deal of them all when visiting the Las Vegas Strip.
