The Las Vegas Hilton and Casino is located off the strip and has enjoyed a resurgence thanks in large part to the monorail station out front. If you are looking for old Las Vegas class without the tacky décor this is your hotel. The clientèle is older and more established and the atmosphere is a rung above your typical casino. Most people stay at the Hilton because of the convenience to the convention center and seem to be working during the day.

What you might like at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino:
I have always enjoyed the spa at the Hilton and the pool area. It’s not flashy and does not get too crowded; however, do not forget your sunglasses because it gets bright out there. Room rates are usually very good and it’s not uncommon to find a weekend rate here under $100.

What you might not like at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino:
If you need to get to another casino you will have to get into a cab or the monorail, there really is no way around it. You could walk to the strip but late at night I would not recommend it.

My suggestion:
If you enjoy walking try walking from the Hilton to the Mandalay Bay. My wife and I would stay at the Hilton exclusively and we made sure to take the long walk to the Hacienda (where the Mandalay Bay currently is) at least a couple of times each stay. You save money on cabs and it’s less time spent gambling. We now stay at the Mandalay Bay and never walk to the Hilton. If you enjoy wine try Mistral where you can choose from over 2145 selections all at moderate prices and good French cuisine.
