Stratosphere Hotel and Casino – Las Vegas

The Stratosphere is on the strip but so far north that it is closer to Downtown than anything else. You can easily find the Stratosphere tower by searching the horizon for a 1200 foot tower. You won’t miss it. The observation deck, upgraded rooms and entertainment make this a great place but it is out of the way.

What you might like at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino:

The views from the tower are incredible and the thrill rides up high are scary. Have lunch at the top of the world restaurant and see all of Las Vegas revolve around you as the restaurant slowly changes positions to improve your view. Try to catch the afternoon show, Viva Las Vegas, a bargain at $12

What you might not like at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino:

The distance to anything else in Las Vegas is real drawback. A mile south and this resort is on everyone’s wish list. The rooms are decent in the newer tower and the older tower is in need of a little cleaning up. However, if you remember Bob Stupak’s place that was here, then this is a huge upgrade.

Unless you really like the isolation I would say its best to try a hotel any where south of the Stratosphere.

Rooms at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino: 2000+ The rooms at the Startosphere are decent size and clean and for the nightly rate a huge bargain. If you are a budget conscious traveler and you really want a resort hotel for a low price this could be for you. But you are a couple of miles from the real action
