What to expect at the Stardust Hotel and Casino Las Vegas:
This is old school Las Vegas, if you want the true feeling stay in the old Motel type rooms out back. They are inexpensive and give you that late sixties early seventies feel. The Casino has survived many expansions and alterations and it looks good. The tower rooms are nice and upgraded. Most importantly you get a large casino with plenty of restaurants and gaming action for a very reasonable price.
What you might like at the Stardust Hotel and Casino Las Vegas:
Low limit gambling is always possible at the Stardust as well as a cozy poker room. The big draw is the best sport book in town. The buffet holds a special place in my heart because my parents made me eat breakfast there on a regular basis and yet I still have positive memories of the place. The coffee shop has very good late night specials.
What you might not like at the Stardust Hotel and Casino Las Vegas:
This is one of the smokier casinos on the strip and you will walk out smelling like you just chain smoked an entire carton of cigarettes. The scene is older Las Vegas and you will be hard pressed to find anything hip about the Stardust.
My suggestion:
Put on your old school clothes and use the Stardust as your starting point of your Las Vegas career. They comp players here regularly and they appreciate loyal customers. I chose the Las Vegas Hilton as my spot and my friends stayed at the Stardust. They easily doubled the amount of freebies that I had coming my way by staying at the Stardust.

Rooms at the Stardust Hotel and Casino Las Vegas: 1500. I have mentioned the motor lodge rooms but the tower rooms are where you should stay. You will be surprised by how well maintained the rooms are considering that this place has been around for a few decades. Try to get a room in the west tower as it is clearly the nicest place in the hotel. For the north end of the strip it is nice but it is not what you would find at the large hotels. But neither is the price nor the clientele. Rates start at around $50 per night. Weekends can get to $150 per night
