Looking for Family Fun in Las Vegas?
Your guide to all the family attractions

By Zeke Quezada, About.com

Las Vegas is still a family destination. While it may no longer be specifically catering to people and their kids, these days you can spend your entire time in the city enjoying attractions other than the requisite gaming options. More importantly a family can go to Las Vegas and spend less than most destinations in the U.S.

Personally, I enjoy taking long walks while out on the strip, making my way in and out of each casino, in the summer this is a necessity as the temperatures soar and in the winter the heat is always a welcome amenity. My wife and I have traversed the strip ever since our first trip to Las Vegas as a couple of starry eyed lovers in our early twenties. Soon our young son who made the journey from one end of the strip to the other, he was not impressed as he slept most of the way.

Need a place to eat with the family?

Our rationale used to be that we could limit our time at the gaming tables during the day by taking a walk to wherever we intended on having lunch. That rationale soon included overeating, as we would calculate calories burned into our desert choices.

Today the amount of options included in your trek from the Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere are endless so you might need a few days and a healthy heart to hit them all.

If your looking for Movie theaters you need go no further than the Showcase arcade Located adjacent to the MGM Grand Hotel. I have spent numerous afternoons lamenting losing streaks watching first run movies while drowning my sorrows with popcorn at this location.

Have a cheap vacation with the kids in Las Vegas

If thrill rides are your antidote for the hectic life you choose to avoid, Las Vegas offers a multitude of choices for the adventurous spirits. Motion simulators seem to be found throughout the city as a technological alternative to the roller coaster.

You can always spend your money in the arcade and game rooms found in the city Arcades where you might just leave Las Vegas with a stuffed animal.

If your looking for high brow entertainment outside of the casino, Las Vegas offers some incredible museums.

The desert offers an opportunity to engage your senses and sense of adventure while visiting incredible scenic natural areas.Visit the natural wonders

If want to see living things crawling and swimming got to Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay Hotel, see the lions at the MGM Grand, or the Flamingos at the Flamingo.
