What it’s like at Michael Mina Las Vegas?
The former Aqua has been redone by Charles Condy and Michael Mina and now is Michael Mina. The atmosphere is much more relaxed and it actually feels like a comfortable place to eat. As you walk through the Botanical Gardens at Bellagio there is no need to look to closely because if you’re lucky you can enjoy your dinner and get a great view of the gardens while having a glass of red wine inside Michael Mina.
Large bright spaces and a roomy dining room make this place a pleasure to dine at. The restaurant is a bit loud but that gives it a certain atmosphere that lends itself to whispering into your dates’ ear.
How’s the food at Michael Mina Las Vegas?
The tasting menu gives you a wide array of flavors and experiences, but if you want a sure bet I would venture toward the Sea bass or the Fillet Mignon. Starting with the Seared Scallops was a pleasure but a couple too many glasses of wine might of impaired my judgment.
I once wrote: "The food is great and the service is attentive but I don't like the place. I can't explain it. The seafood dishes will make you pass out, the tasting menu is expensive but really delivers the flavors. It just feels too pretentious for me. But I'll eat there again, I'm not a savage. "
This place has changed and it is a much better restaurant these days. Once again I can't put my finger on it but it has improved. I like it now.
