What it’s like? Imagine Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and yourself sitting in a steak house smoking cigarettes and drinking bourbon. It’s pure Vegas as is AJ’s Steakhouse. It’s a throwback and if you want to hold onto the mid 60’s Vegas nostalgia this is the place to do it. The leather door in front greets you and the retro colors don’t seem so retro when accompanied by the pictures of Vegas long ago. Tip the ever present Piano man and start thinking about how much music you need to buy to give you this feeling back home.
A classic steakhouse with a little Las Vegas flare. The ambiance is exactly what someone searching for nostalgia is looking for. Peter Morton creates an old school feel and combines it with great tasting food.
How’s the food?
If you are looking for prime beef that has been gently grilled and served with just enough food to keep your taste buds interested AJ’s is the place for you. My wife hovers over the calamatta olive appetizer like a vulture and the mushrooms will make you have a love affair with fungus.
Let me tell you that if you are looking for a steak there really is no reason to go around town looking for something else. This place is it!
