Take a Day Trip From Las Vegas

Friday June 30, 2006
grand canyon small.jpg Visit the Grand Canyon, on a quick day trip from Las Vegas. It might be a little hot this time of the year but the drive is pleasant and there is so much to see in the Southwest. Go south from Las Vegas and take a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Look out over the edge and imagine the thousands of years of erosion that created this huge hole in the ground. Hey, it's better than dropping money at the tables, right? Well, I guess you do get free drinks at the tables.

There are plenty of great day trips outside of Las Vegas, so pull yourself away from the tables and see the natural beauty of Southern Nevada

If you would rather see the sights along the Las Vegas Strip, check out the Venetian, the Eiffel Tower or the lights of Las Vegas.

Visiting the southwest?

So you need to find other things to do outside of Las Vegas? I have the answer for you, take a look at About's guide to the Southwest for information on travel to Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.

The World Series of Poker is going on right now at the Rio Suites Hotel and Casino. Today’s World Series of Poker event: $2500 Buy-in No-limit Hold'em Short Handed, 6/table (3 day event). See the full schedule of events for the 2006 World Series of Poker.
